MANILA, Philippines — A stepmother and her stepson were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Marikina City on Wednesday evening.

Police identified the suspects as Christine Dela Paz, alias Tiny, 45, and Crisanto Uy, 27, both of Barangay Malanday, Marikina City.

The Marikina police’s Drug Enforcement Unit received information about drug trade by an alias Tiny which led them to conduct a buy-bust operation along Shoe Avenue in front of a supermarket in Barangay Sto. Niño.

At 11 p.m., police arrested the suspects after an undercover officer posed as a buyer using a marked P500 bill.

Lawmen reportedly seized from Dela Paz five sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P5,000.

The suspects are detained at the Marikina police detention cell and will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, police said. /cbb
