2 sisters die in Tondo fire

MANILA, Philippines — Two sisters died when a fire gutted their house in Tondo, Manila, on Tuesday morning, the police reported.

The Manila Police Department identified the casualties as Ckrezhan Francine Jagunos, 15, and Hazel Lance Jagunos, 12.

The victims’ charred bodies were found inside their house at 1153 Soriano Street.

The fire began at 3:36 a.m. and reached the second alarm after three minutes.

The blaze was declared under control at 4:16 a.m. and was put out after more than 20 minutes.

Authorities are still determining the cause of fire and the cost of the damage. /cbb
