DPWH repairs, reopens quake-damaged Pampanga bridge, road
MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Thursday announced the reopening of a bridge and road in Pampanga which were damaged by last Monday’s magnitude 6.1 earthquake.
Reopened to traffic by the DPWH Regional Office III were the East Lateral Megadike in Bacolor and Consuelo Bridge in Floridablanca.
“DE (District Engineer) Almer Miranda of Pampanga 1st DEO (District Engineering Office) led his Maintenance Crew and other field engineers to institute quick after-embankment and crack sealing after it incurred cracks,” the DPWH Regional Office III said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
“The Consuelo Bridge in Floridablanca, Pampanga has been opened to traffic. This was announced by District Engineer Gregorio Audea of Pampanga 2nd DEO following the order of Secretary Mark Villar yesterday to institute rapid repair to facilitate fast travel of the residents,” it added.
