Milk truck accident causes heavy traffic on C-5

MANILA, Philippines — A 20-foot container truck carrying 1,900 kilos of milk slammed into a barrier on C-5 Road in Bagong Ilog on Monday afternoon, causing heavy traffic in the area.

Pasig Command Center CCTV operator Kurt Matthew told INQUIRER.net the accident occurred at 12:36 p.m. and has resulted in the pile up of vehicles on C-5 Road.

Matthew said the driver of the truck, who said he lost control of the brakes, was brought to the Medical City for treatment.

As of posting time, the truck is still at the site, but retrieval operations are already ongoing, Matthew said.

In a Facebook post, the Pasig Command Center advised motorists heading to Taguig or Makati to avoid the area and take an alternative route. /ee
