PNP: Drowning, vehicular accident top recorded deaths in April
MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-three deaths were recorded from April 5 to 16 due to drowning and vehicular incidents, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Wednesday.
Of the number, 18 were drowning incidents, four were vehicular accidents and one was due to a shooting incident.
PNP chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde reminded citizens to be cautious on drinking alcohol while visiting beaches as this would impair ones ability to swim.
Albayalde also asked the public to check their vehicles when leaving their homes for the Holy Week break.
