BOC seizes P2 million worth of illegal drugs in Pasay
MANILA, Philippines —The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Wednesday said it seized an estimated P2 million worth of illegal drugs in Pasay City.
According to the BOC, the drugs were concealed in five separate packages that contain shabu, ecstasy, marijuana, and cocaine that were seized from various warehouses in Pasay.
One of the packages contained 0.54 kilogram of ecstasy worth P1.7 million and was concealed inside a printer that originated from the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, an outbound parcel containing 0.027 kilograms of shabu was placed inside an envelope from a certain J.C Crisostomo. The package was believed to be delivered to a certain Abraham Salas Jr. whose address is in Bahrain.
Aside from these, 0.0135 kilograms of cocaine from the United States were also found by the BOC in a warehouse. The cocaine was initially declared as toys by its consignee.
Two shipments of marijuana in the form of hemp gummy candies and dried leaves that were declared as pancake mix and lotion from the United States were also seized by the Customs.
Article continues after this advertisementFollowing the confiscation of the assorted illegal drugs, the BOC now has listed a total of 39 drug bust operations since 2018. The busts amount to P370 million in illegal drugs.
According to the BOC, the seized drugs were properly turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on April 17 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Customhouse in Pasay City. /muf
