MANILA, Philippines — The management of the Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT-2) will be providing free rides to all Filipino veterans for seven days in observance of Philippine Veterans Week and Day of Valor.
In an advisory on Tuesday, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said that all Filipino veterans may ride the LRT line 2 for free starting Friday, April 5, until next week Thursday, April 11.
“In observance of the Philippine Veterans Week and the Araw ng Kagitingan, veterans may avail of unlimited free LRT-2 rides at any time between 4:30 a.m. until the last commercial train trip on the dates indicated below,” the LRTA said in an advisory.
Aside from LRTA, the management of the the Metro Rail Transit line 3 (MRT-3) also announced that it would give Filipino veterans free rides on the same given dates.
The two management, however, noted that the veterans availing the free train ride must be accompanied by one individual who can help and assist them.
Each veteran must also present his or her Philippine Veterans Affairs Office identification card at any station, both the LRTA and MRT-3 noted.
The LRT-2 free rides will be available from 4:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m, while the free rides of MRT-3 would start from 5:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. /jpv
