11,600 cops to secure Metro Manila on Holy Week

MANILA, Philippines – A total of 11,600 police officers will be deployed to secure Metro Manila during the Holy Week, Major General Guillermo Eleazar, director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), told in a text message on Monday.

According to Eleazar, police officers will be deployed at transportation terminals  and other key facilities and locations


In a television interview, Eleazar also said that “everything is under control” and that the situation in Metro Manila in anticipation to the Lenten season is “generally peaceful.” / gsg
