Duterte names Ignacio as new SSS president
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Social Security Commission Chair Aurora Cruz Ignacio as the new president and chief executive officer of the Social Security System (SSS), replacing Emmanuel Dooc who resigned.
Duterte signed Ignacio’s appointment paper on March 28, a day before the appointment ban takes effect due to the election period. A copy Ignacio’s appointment paper was shared to the media on Monday.
Early last month, Dooc submitted his resignation letter to Duterte “upon the effectivity of the new SSS charter” as it “automatically ended” his term.
