SSS president Emmanuel Dooc resigns

MANILA, Philippines (Updated) — Social Security System (SSS) President and Chief Executive Officer (PCEO) Emmanuel Dooc has resigned from his post.

In a text message to INQUIRER.net on Wednesday, Dooc said he submitted his resignation letter to President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday “upon the effectivity of the [n]ew SSS [c]harter” as it “automatically ended” his term.

“I wanted to give Pres[ident] Duterte the opportunity to appoint my successor as the PCEO under the New SSS Law,” he added.

When asked if he knew who his successor would be, he said, “I have no idea. Let’s leave that to the President.”
