Paolo Duterte’s birthday wish to his father: ‘Rest sometimes’

DAVAO CITY — Former Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte asked his father to rest sometimes amid the busy schedule as the President marked his 74th birthday.

Paolo sent his birthday greetings to his father President  Duterte on social media, saying, “Happy Birthday Pa! Bisag unsa ka kabusy sa imong trabaho, usahay wa na kay tulog, pero makapangita ra gihapon ka og oras para kanamo (Happy birthday Pa, despite how busy you are in your work, sometimes you don’t even get to sleep; and yet, you  still find time to be with us),” Paolo wrote in his Facebook page.

Paolo also thanked his father and promised to support him always.

“Daghang Salamat Pa! Naa ra mi dri kanunay mosuporta kanimo. Pahulay sad usahay. (Thank You so much, Pa. We are always here to support you. Sometime you need to rest),” Paolo said.

He also asked his father not to mind his critics and leave the smart-talking ones to daughter Mayor Sara Duterte and those who act like rabid dogs to him.

“Pasagdi ng mga tawo nga pabright-bright diha, si Inday na’y bahala nila!  Ug kanang mga irong buang Pa, ako nay bahala nila (Leave the smart-talking ones to Inday and the rabid dogs to me).

Paolo wished  his father good health so that he could continue serving the public.

The president who celebrates his 74th birthday on Thursday (March 28) earlier said he just wanted to stay home and sleep during his birthday.

In his previous birthdays, the president only spent his time with his family at home.
