Paolo Duterte on Pa’s birthday: Take a break; we’ll handle foes
Resigned Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte posted this photo of himself and his father on Facebook as he greeted the chief executive on his 73rd birthday.
MANILA, Philippines – Take a break. We’ll take care of your detractors.
Presidential son and former Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte said this Thursday as he greeted his father, President Rodrigo Duterte, on his 74th birthday.
“Happy birthday, Pa! Kahit gaano ka pa ka-busy sa trabaho, minsan wala ka ng tulog, pero naghahanap ka pa rin ng oras para sa amin. Maraming salamat, Pa! Nandito lang kami para sumuporta sa iyo,” Paolo, the President’s eldest son, said on a Facebook post in Bisaya.
He told his father to take a rest once in a while, saying he and his sister Sara Duterte-Carpio will take care of his critics.
“Pahinga ka rin paminsan minsan, hayaan mo muna ang mga taong nagkukunwaring bright-bright dyan, si Inday na ang bahala sa kanila! Hehehe at yung mga baliw/buang dyan ako na ang bahala sa kanila!” he said.
“Sana bigyan ka ng magandang kalusugan para maipagpatuloy mo pa ang pagbibigay serbisyo sa mga tao,” he added. “We love you Pa!!”
In a short birthday greeting, Sara wished her father good health and happiness.
“A lecture on responsible gadget use by Lolo Digong. #HappyBirthdayPRD! I wish you good health and happiness!” Sara said an Instagram post, with a photo of the President and her son.
As in the past years, Duterte will celebrate his birthday in Davao City.
He earlier said that he would just spend the day at home sleeping. /cbb
