Opposition Senate bets barnstorm through Davao Del Sur

DIGOS CITY, Philippines — Opposition Senate candidates took their campaign caravan to Davao Del Sur on Friday.

Three of the eight candidates under the Otso Diretso slate will be holding various activities here in Digos City, Davao del Sur a day after campaigning in General Santos City, bailiwick of Senator Manny Pacquiao.

Former Solicitor General Pilo Hilbay, Marawi civic leader Samira Gutoc and former Rep. Erin Tañada kicked off their campaign with a brief courtesy call on Bishop Guillermo Afable at the Diocese of Digos.

They will also visit the Old Digos City Public Market and have another courtesy call on Governor Marc Douglas Cagas at the provincial capitol before visiting the Digos City Hall.

The opposition senatorial bets are then expected to end their campaign here with a senatorial debate hosted by the Cor Jesu College. /muf
