Sara Duterte: Alejano lying on accusation vs Bong Go

/ 02:54 PM March 06, 2019

MANILA, Philippines—Opposition senatorial bet Gary Alejano is “lying” when he accused administration candidate Bong Go of using government funds for the registration fee and kits of a public assembly attended by barangay officials, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said Wednesday.

The Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) leader rued how the senatorial bets of the Otso Diretso are questioning Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos about “honesty” over her school records but they too are throwing “lies” against pro-administration bets.

“Nagsisinungaling si Alejano when he said that galing sa government  funds ang T-shirts na nilagay sa kits…kinukwestyon nila ‘yung isang candidate na sinusuportahan ng HNP about honesty. So what shall we do about Alejano who is lying?” Duterte-Carpio told reporters.

“So sabi ko sa kanilang lahat, walang isang kandidato diyan na hindi nagsisinungaling kaya hindi dapat nagiging issue ang honesty ngayon,” she added.

The presidential daughter also stressed that Go, a former Special Assistant to the President, has already answered the accusation.

“Nagbigay na ng statements si senatorial candidate Bong Go about sa T-shirt na pumasok sa kits noong Liga ng mga Barangay event and he already said na sa supporters nanggaling ‘yung shirts na ‘yun and hindi gastos ng government,” Duterte-Carpio said.

“At ang paglagay ng T-shirts sa kits ay without permission doon sa kanya at sa kanyang mga staff,” she added.

On Tuesday, Alejano claimed that polo shirts printed with Go’s name were included in the kits given to attendees of the 1st Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas National Assembly on February 25 to 27.

He also alleged that that government funds were used for the event. /muf
