March 3 to 4: Kalilangan Festival

Residents in General Santos City in South Cotabato province wrap up their celebration of the city’s 80th founding anniversary.

The festival’s name came from the Maguindanaoan word “kalilang,” which means celebration or festival.

The last few activities include a street dancing event, folk dance workshop, agri fair, fish exhibit and sports events.

March 3 to 7: Musikahan sa Tagum

A cultural event in Tagum City in Davao del Norte province celebrating Filipino excellence in musical composition, performance and production.

The event coincides with Araw ng Tagum commemorated every March 7.

Festivities include a plucked string competition, chorale competition, Barangay Musikahan, drumline competition, job fair and Araw ng Tagum parade.

March 2 to 9: Anilag Festival

Laguna province showcases its abundant resources, rich culture and tourist destinations in the weeklong festival, which was previously renamed “La Laguna” in 2012 after the province’s colonial name.

In 2016, it was again renamed Anilag, a portmanteau of “Ani ng Laguna” (Laguna’s harvest).

Activities include a fluvial parade, color run, landscape competition and culinary arts and flairtending competition.
