DFA opens consular office in Clarin, Misamis Occidental
MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has opened a new consular office in Clarin, Misamis Occidental.
The new consular office at the Clarin Town Center was inaugurated last February 11, 2019.
It is the DFA’s 35th consular office in the country and the eight in Mindanao, the agency said in a statement on Friday.
Assistant Secretary Neil Frank Ferrer, who led the inauguration, said that the new consular office would not only provide passport services but also “assistance-to-nationals” services, where the public can seek DFA assistance for their distressed relatives overseas.
Misamis Occidental 2nd District Rep. Henry Oaminal, who also graved the inauguration, said the new consular office would benefit the people of Misamis Occidental who would no longer have to travel to Manila or Cagayan de Oro to secure or renew their passports.
The Misamis Occidental consular office is open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the DFA said. / gsg
