Senatorial bets attend ‘apolitical’ PMA alumni homecoming
FORT DEL PILAR, BAGUIO CITY — This year’s Philippine Military Academy (PMA) alumni homecoming here drew graduates as old as Cavalier Delfin Castillo of PMA Class of 1951 and as young as Angelika Fernandez of PMA Class of 2018, who came along with their spouses and children.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines has barred PMA alumni, including honorary class members, from “engaging in political campaigning.”
But the annual reunion also drew electoral candidates for the coming May midterm elections like Gary Alejano and Senator JV Ejercito.
Heeding the no-politics rule, Alejano steered clear of the covering media and proceeded down the Borromeo Field to join his mistahs (schoolmates) from PMA Class of 1995.
Ejercito is an adopted member of PMA Class of 1988.
PMA’s Class of 1989 serves as the lead host class for this year’s alumni homecoming.
