MANILA, Philippines — The flyover and intersection in Tandang Sora, Quezon City would be closed to motorists until 2020 to give way to the ongoing construction of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT- 7), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Thursday.
MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said the closure would start at 11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, and would last until 2020, the time when MRT-7 is expected to be completed.
“Imbis na makatulong nag-create lang ng traffic ‘yan, so kailangan na nating tanggalin ‘yan. Yung flyover po dyan at yung intersection sa ilalim, magsasara muna (We need to close the flyover and the intersection because they will only create traffic),” Garcia said in a press briefing.
“Pag sinara to, dire diretso na hanggang 2020. Hanggang matapos na po ang MRT (The closure will last until the completion of the construction work for the MRT),” he added.
