Aid pours in for Bataan fire victims

ORION, BATAAN —— The provincial government of Bataan has donated P10 million to the victims of the Tuesday fire that gutted the houses of more than 1,000 families in this town.

Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia on Friday said starting next week, each family displaced by the tragic fire in Barangay Capunitan here would receive P10,000.

He said the Department of Social Welfare and Development would  process the list of recipients.

Garcia also announced that the Balanga City government gave P500,000 to the fire victims while Bataan First District Congresswoman Geraldine Roman announced she was giving away P100,000.

Bong Go, the former special assistant to the President, visited the victims on Friday and vowed to facilitate the setting up of “Malasakit Center” in the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center in Balanga City. Greg Refraccion/lzb
