DID YOU KNOW: National Arts Month
February is National Arts Month (NAM) by virtue of Proclamation No. 683 signed on Jan. 28, 1991, by then President Corazon Aquino.
As the Philippines’ leading government agency for arts and culture, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) will mark this year’s NAM celebration with the multivenue series of events, “Ani ng Sining: Philippine Arts Festival.”
NCCA’s month-long NAM celebration closes with the Ani ng Dangal awarding ceremony which recognizes artists who have earned international awards and accolades in the past year. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
