MANILA, Philippines — The appointment of General Benjamin Madrigal Jr. as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff has been recommended for confirmation by a panel of the Commission on Appointments (CA).
No one objected to recommending the confirmation Madrigal’s ad interim appointment during a hearing of the CA Committee on national defense headed by Zamboanga del Norte 1st District Rep. Seth Frederick Jalosjos on Wednesday.
Aside from Madrigal, the CA panel also recommended the confirmation of the ad interim appointments of two other AFP officials: Noel Clemente to the rank of Lieutenant General and Virgilio Bartolome as Brigadier General.
