MANILA, Philippines – The third set of trains acquired from China-based CRRC Dalian Co. Ltd. for the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) along EDSA will start undergoing test-runs on Wednesday (Jan. 23) until Feb. 1, the management of the train system announced.
In an advisory on Monday, the MRT-3 management said that tests will run from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“According to the PMO (project management office) handling Dalian trains, the validation testing of the third train set will run from 23 January to 1 February 2019, from 6am to 9pm,” the management said.
The train set will have to undergo a 1,000 kilometer-test run for 150 hours during off-peak hours before being deployed during peak hours of operation.
The MRT-3 has deployed the first Dalian train set from Oct. 27 to Nov. 21 last year, while another was deployed from Dec. 11 to 23, 2018.
