Body of shirtless man found floating in Tondo estero

MANILA, Philippines — The body of an unidentified shirtless man was found floating along the Estero de Vitas in Tondo, Manila, the Manila Police District (MPD) reported on Tuesday.

According to police, the body was found by a witness who noticed it as it floated along the estero.

Police said the witness then  immediately informed  barangay officials, who then called for police assistance.

Police said the victim is estimated to be between the ages of 39 and 41 years old, has fair complexion, of medium build and was of 5’9” tall.

Police said the victim’s head was wrapped in clothes and duct tape with a chain looped around his neck which was connected to a pail filled with hardened concrete.

The body was then transferred to Archangel Funeral Parlor.

An autopsy of the body and an investigation of the incident are still ongoing, police said. /muf
