‘Bistek’ suspends classes in QC for Black Nazarene feast
MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista announced on Tuesday the suspension of classes in the city on Wednesday, in connection with the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
Citing reports of security threats and traffic concerns, Bautista ordered the cancelation of classes in all levels in the city.
Faculty and school facilitators are, meanwhile, advised to provide complimentary homeworks to students.
Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada has also ordered the suspension of classes and government work on Wednesday in Manila.
Millions of devotees are expected to flock to Manila specifically at Quiapo Church and Quirino Grandstand on the day of the Traslacion. /jpv
