MANILA, Philippines — An elderly woman was found dead in a dumpsite in Barangay Payatas, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said.
The body was recovered from a black garbage bag on Wednesday morning.
In a statement on Thursday, the QCPD identified the body as a 65-year-old woman named “Verry,” a Payatas resident.
“According to the witness, ‘Verry’ was known in the neighborhood for living alone, having no known relatives, and was reportedly suffering from mental health issues,” the QCPD said.
“She was often seen wearing multiple layers of clothing and the same silver ring identified on the body,” it added.
The Quezon City police further added that closed-circuit television camera footage last saw Verry leaving her home on Tuesday morning, wearing the same clothes she in which was found.
