MMDA: 57 vehicles caught illegally parked in Manila, Baclaran, Parañaque

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has apprehended nearly 60 violators on the first day of its implementation of higher fines for illegal parking.

According to MMDA records, a total of 57 apprehensions were made from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. of Monday during operations along FB Harrison, Taft Avenue, Buendia, Quirino Highway, Parañaque, Roxas Boulevard to TM Kalaw, and Baclaran areas.

To recall, MMDA increased the fines starting January 7, 2019 for the following:

  • Attended vehicles parked illegally, from only P200 to P1,000; and
  • Unattended vehicles parked illegally, from P500 to P2,000.
