CONSOLACION ROBBERY

A FEMALE house caretaker reported to the police that she was robbed by two co-jeepney passengers in Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

Esterlita Dela Torre, 28, said she had just deposited money in a bank in Cebu City and was on her way to the house of her employer in barangay Yati when the robbery occurred.

The woman said it was in barangay Jagobiao in Mandaue City when a man and a woman boarded the jeepney she rode on and sat in between her.

Minutes later, the two passengers discreetly pointed knives at her and ordered her to disembark with them in Consolacion.

The victim said they disembarked in barangay Poblacion Oriental where the two thieves took her watch, ring and the three ATM cards owned by her employer.

The victim the said the two robbers ordered him to reveal the PIN code of the three ATM cards.

The woman said she only memorized the PIN code of one of the cards.

The victim told police that another man joined the two robbers when they fled.

Dela Torre went to her employer’s house in Lilo-an before reporting to the police.

Police said it was later found out that P12,000 was withdrawn from the ATM after the robbery. Police said the amount of cash is still subject for verification.

JEWELRY WORTH P100T STOLEN

ASSORTED jewelry worth at least P100,000 were taken by unidentified thieves who burglarized the house of a 50-year-old man in barangay San Roque, Talisay City, southern Cebu.

Police said the owner of the house, Edwin Villarin, was not at home when the thieves struck at 4:30 a.m. yesterday.

Police said the thieves entered the house by removing the window’s jalousie blades.

The house owner discovered when he arrived home and found that his assorted jewelry worth P118,000 were missing.

WOMAN ROBBED IN TALISAY

A 29-YEAR-OLD woman lost P20,000 to two armed robbers in barangay San Roque, Talisay City, southern Cebu, last Monday night.

Mary Flordeliz Montefalcon said a motorcycle with two men on board blocked the trisikad she was riding. The two motorcycle riders disembarked, pointed their guns at the woman and took the woman’s bag containing P20,700.

The robbers hurriedly drove off, said police.

The woman told police that the motorcycle used by the robbers bore a plate number GV-6489.

An operation to arrest the robbers is in progress, said police. /CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC

MAN STABBED IN DRINKING BOUT

A 23-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed and wounded by his neighbor in barangay Pasil, Cebu City, last Monday night.

Police said Bernabe Cabangca Jr. was drinking with friends at the side of Magsayay Street when the suspect David “Hiwi” Donal arrived.

Police said Donal grabbed Cabangca by the neck and stabbed him in the back.

Donal tried to escape but was arrested by responding police.

Cabangca was rushed by his mother to the Cebu City Medical Center.
