Woman gives birth on Makati street

MANILA, Philippines — Officers from the Makati City Police Station assisted a mother who unexpectedly delivered her baby on P. Burgos Street in Barangay Poblacion in Makati on afternoon Christmas Day.

Members of the Tourist Police — PO1 Evangeline Evardo, PO1 Fatima Manalo, and PO1 Marygrace Lanaja — assigned on Burgos Street were called after a woman identified only as Divine, 22, from Mandaluyong City, went into labor at around 3:00 p.m.

The three police officers assisted the mother in giving birth and called for the Makati Rescue Team to check on the condition both mother and child.

Members of the Makati Rescue Team arrived and brought the woman and her baby to the Ospital ng Makati.
