DID YOU KNOW: Socio-Economic Planning and Development Week

Socio-Economic Planning and Development Week is observed under the auspices of the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) from Dec. 17 to 23 by virtue of Proclamation No. 666 signed on Nov. 19, 1990, by then President Corazon Aquino.

Neda Day is also observed every Dec. 23.

The National Economic Council, the forerunner of Neda, was created on Dec. 23, 1935, under Commonwealth Act No. 2. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
