MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Thursday the suspension of the coding scheme for the weeklong holiday break.

MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago said in a text message sent to reporters that the number coding scheme for private vehicles is lifted starting Dec. 24 until Jan 2.

No announcement yet from the cities of Makati and Las Piñas if they would also suspend its number coding.

In an earlier advisory, the MMDA said that the coding of provincial buses would also be suspended from Dec. 21 until January 2. /je
