‘Good news’ on the administration, Aquino’s Christmas wish from media

MANILA, Philippines—A media that reports the “good news” about the administration is a gift that President Benigno Aquino III would like to receive this Christmas.

President Aquino himself bared his wish at the Christmas Party of the weekly media forum “Bulong-Pulungan” at the Sofitel Hotel, Pasay City on Tuesday.

According to him, the government is source of “many good news” but these are ignored by media and not reported at all.

In fact, there are many stories that should not just be ‘whispered’ about, but worthy of “public announcement,” he stressed.

President Aquino has embarked on wide-ranging reforms as part of his campaign promise to bring the country back to the “daang matuwid” (straight path).

But the Philippine press, once known as the ‘freest in Asia,’ has also criticized him on many issues, including his supposed tardiness and passion for guns.
