NPA member arrested for kidnapping with murder
MANILA, Philippines — A member of the New People’s Army who is facing charges of kidnapping with murder was arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Angono, Rizal on Thursday.
Supt. Roque Merdegia Jr., chief of the CIDG-Anti-Transnational Crime Unit (ATCU), identified the suspect as Arnold Juego alias “Ka Arnold,” a native of Baler, Aurora Province.
A search warrant for firearms and a warrant of arrest were issued against the suspect, according to a report from the CIDG on Friday.
No firearms however were confiscated from the suspect during the operation, police said.
Police said Juego is facing charges for the 1987 kidnapping and murder of late San Luis, Aurora Mayor Rosauro Tangson.
Juego is now detained at the CIDG-ATCU. /muf
