A tricycle driver in Caloocan City who was reportedly involved in drug activities was shot dead Wednesday.

William Macalintal, a 49-year-old resident of Barangay 177 in Camarin, was about to park his tricycle outside his house at 9 p.m. when he was gunned down by two motorcycle riders wearing masks.

Police said the gunmen fled while the victim was brought to Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital where he died as he was being operated on for multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim’s sister said he lived by himself. Witnesses told the police that Macalintal was involved in illegal drug activities in their area and investigators were trying to determine if this had anything to do with his death.
