A special investigation task force has been formed to probe the killing of a businessman outside a hotel in Subic Bay on Wednesday night, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Thursday.
Chief Superintendent Joel Coronel, Central Luzon PNP regional director, said they created a special investigation group to look into the shooting of Dominic Sytin, founder and chief executive officer of United Auctioneers Inc., outside the Lighthouse Hotel at 7:45 p.m.

Coronel said they would be coordinating with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and other intelligence and investigation division in the PNP Regional Office, as well as the city police.
Investigation showed that Sytin had just gotten of his vehicle and was walking towards the hotel at 7:45 p.m. when he was shot by a still unidentified gunman.
Coronel said the gunman waited for Sytin outside the hotel.
“Apparently, mahigit isang oras po na naghihintay yung gunman. Naghihintay at tinitingnan kung sino yung dumadating,” (The gunman apparently waited for more than an hour. He waited and watched who were coming) Coronel said in an interview over dzMM.
Witnesses said the gunman had a bandana or a handkerchief covering his face.
Coronel said they were reviewing CCTV footage to come up with a description of the suspect and identify him.
They will also coordinate with the witnesses and the bodyguard of Sytin to come up with a physical description of the suspect.
Coronel said that Sytin’s bodyguard, who was also reportedly shot, was already in stable condition. /cbb
