House assigns Jericho Nograles as caretaker of brother’s Davao district

House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has designated Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta (PBA) party-list Rep. Jericho Nograles as legislative caretaker of Davao 1st District after his brother Karlo was appointed Cabinet Secretary.

“In the interest of the people of the 1st District of Davao City, the Honorable Jericho Jonas B. Nograles is hereby designated as legislative caretaker of the 1st District of Davao City effective immediately,” read memorandum No. 17-192 issued by Arroyo last Thursday, November 15, and was made available to media on Tuesday.

In a statement, Jericho thanked Arroyo and assured he would fulfill his duties although he would be running as a nominee of PBA party-list in the 2019 mid-term elections.

“Even before the appointment of my brother as Cabinet Secretary, I have always served the First District of Davao City, so I’m really happy that I was chosen by Speaker Arroyo and my colleagues as the legislative caretaker of my home district,” he said. /kga
