Drug ‘supplier’ slain in Laguna, shabu worth P400k seized

SAN PEDRO CITY – A man tagged as a “supplier” of illegal drugs from Metro Manila was killed in a police operation in Calamba City, Laguna.

Senior Supt. Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, said in a text message Tuesday, that the suspect identified only by his alias “Omar,” was the target of a buy-bust operation conducted around midnight in Barangay Pansol.

According to police, the suspect sold to an undercover police officer suspected shabu (crystal meth) but suddenly drew out a 9-mm gun and opened fire.

Police said they were forced to fire back and kill the suspect.

Matta said the suspect had been under a weeklong surveillance as he had been allegedly supplying drugs sourced from Metro Manila.

The police said they recovered around 100 grams of suspected shabu placed in a plastic ice bag, which they estimated to be worth about P400,000.
