Davao’s Carolino, Tutor dominate Youth Run Make A Stand

DAVAO’S Joebert Carolino and Cebu’s comebacking running queen Cristy Sevellino-Tutor dominated the 10-kilometer category of the Youth Run Make A Stand of the District Youth Coordinating Council (DYCC) of Cebu at the Plaza Independencia yesterday.

Carolino clocked 33 minutes and 12 seconds to rule the men’s side while  Tutor finished in 43:09 to top the women’s category.

Around 1,000 joined the race, which got enormous support from youth groups of different parishes of Cebu. The race intended to raise funds for Cebu’s hosting of the Local World Youth Day set on summer of 2012 at the University of San Jose-Recoletos Basak campus.

Joel Delposo and Lynle Cardenas lorded the 5k category.

Delposo breatsed the finish line at the newly renovated Plaza Independencia in 19:38 while Cardenas timed 25:48.

Jade Marie Recto, meanwhile,  topped the 3k women’s side with a time of 12:32 while John Cliff Debulosan topped the men’s side in 9:40. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
