Cop helps arrest brother for illegal drugs in Lucena

LUCENA CITY – A police officer helped authorities arrest his own brother for in a sting operation for illegal drugs here Thursday night.

Anti-illegal drugs operatives from the local police and the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) Police Regional Office nabbed Teodorico Burac, 48, and his companion, Mhyrza Agbuya, 28, after the two allegedly sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in the bust inside a hotel room in Barangay (village) Isabang around 9:10 p.m.


Police said Police Officer 3 Lawrence Burac, Teodorico’s brother, helped monitor the illegal drug activities of his brother.

Seized from the suspects were 11 plastic sachets of shabu weighing a total of 2.8 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P5,180 per gram.


Police said Tedorico was a member of the the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology who has since gone absent without official leave.

According to police, the two suspects are both included in the police list of top suspected drug pushers in the region.  /muf
