192 hotels, resorts allowed to operate in Boracay

A total of 192 hotels and resorts in Boracay have been allowed to accommodate visitors almost two weeks after the island resort’s soft opening, the Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF) announced on Wednesday.

In a Facebook post, the BIATF issued an updated list of compliant and accredited establishments, which have 8,277 available rooms to accommodate visitors in the island resort.

The BIATF said Fairways and Blue Water Resort and Savoy Hotel Boracay have the highest number of available rooms with 700 and 559, respectively.

“LOOK: The Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force is pleased to announce that only the following updated accredited accommodation establishments in Boracay Island will be allowed to accept bookings and reservations,” the BIATF posted.

All 192 establishments have been accredited by the Department of Tourism after securing permits and clearances from the Department of Interior and Local Government and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the BIATF said. /ee
