Honasan is next DICT chief; appointment paper out soon – Medialdea

Senator Gringo Honasan is the next Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea confirmed on Monday.

“Yes,” Medialdea told INQUIRER.net in a chance interview after the inauguration of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.


“It’s forthcoming. Let’s just wait [for his appointment paper],” he added.

Eliseo Rio is the acting DICT secretary.


Duterte’s offer to Honasan, who is on his last term as senator, came as the government is choosing a third telecommunications player in the country to break the duopoly between PLDT Inc. and Globe Telecom./ac
