Notable memorial sites or group plots can be found at Manila North Cemetery.

Among these are the Mausoleo de los Veteranos de la Revolucion, a national shrine for those who fought in the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine-American War; the Boy Scouts Cenotaph, in honor of the 24 Boy Scouts killed in a 1963 plane crash en route to the 11th World Scout Jamboree; and a shrine for the Thomasites, a group of American teachers sent to the Philippines by the US government in 1901. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
