4 dead in North Cotabato fire
KIDAPAWAN CITY – A family of four, including a three-month-old baby, died while five others were hurt in a fire that hit a house in Makilala, North Cotabato at 3 p.m. on Monday, police said Tuesday.
Fire Officer 3 Rey Pacres of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), identified the fatalities as Esnayra Quila, 29, her children Sohaile, 3, Sohaina, 2, and Baby Quila, three months old.
Treated for second and third-degree burns were Mosarip Quila, Malic Quila, Rainah Quila, Hairodin Quila and Fahap Quila, the victims’ relatives.
Pacres said the fire scene was in an isolated part of Purok Maliwanag in Barangay Buhay. No one could provide information to arson probers as to what triggered it. He said the victims’ house was made of light materials and had no electricity supply.
