Palace welcomes Duterte’s high net trust rating in Q3 of 2018

Malacañang welcomed on Sunday the high net trust rating of President Rodrigo Duterte, saying that it is an “inspiration” to serve the country.

“It has often been said that the first job of every good leader is to inspire trust as such is essential to produce positive results,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.

“We, therefore, view the survey results, which according to the polling firm rose by 5 percent from +57 in June 2018, as a source of inspiration to continue delivering the President’s promise of genuine and meaningful change in the government and to the nation,” he added.

The Palace official was reacting to the study of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) that showed the President’s net trust rating was at “very good” after getting a +62 grade during the third quarter of 2018.

The SWS said it was a five-point increase from the second quarter survey results.

Panelo assured the public that the Palace would not lay low in serving the country “regardless of the ratings.”

“We assure everyone that – regardless of the ratings – there is no room for complacency in this branch of the government,” Panelo said.

“We will persevere to undertake bolder reforms to make the bureaucracy more efficient and responsive to the needs of our people,” he added.

“With the leadership of our President, as well as with your help and cooperation, we will thrive and push the nation forward amid whatever towering challenge we will face,” Panelo continued. /ee
