Farmer shot dead by brother-in-law in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY — A farmer was shot and killed by his brother-in-law in Asingan town in Pangasinan on Thursday (October 25) after a quarrel on who was the better farmer.

Ferdinand Nugal, 40, died instantly after being shot in the shoulder by Rodolfo Vibora, 38, according to police investigator PO2 Gerry Quijarro, Asingan.

Police said Nugal, Vibora and three others were drinking when the argument broke out, leading to a brawl between the in-laws at noon.

According to police, Vibora suddenly left the group and returned with a gun from his house. Police said Vibora then fired at Nugal, hitting him with the second shot.

Vibora fled but was later arrested after police found him found lying at a road side and drunk. /muf
