Magnitude 3 quake jolts Siquijor

A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck Siquijor on Thursday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

In a 6:37 p.m. bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor hit 37 kilometers southeast of Lazi City, Siquijor.

Phivolcs also said the earthquake was of tectonic origin and had a depth of 19 kilometers.

No aftershocks and damages were expected from the quake, Phivolcs added. /kga
