Lacson warns aspirants against political insanity
“Choose between politics of service and politics of interest.”
Senator Panfilo Lacson had this to say on Wednesday, the last day for the filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) for those running for local and national posts in next year’s midterm elections.
“On May 13, 2019, let’s choose between politics of service and politics of interest. Just remember Einstein’s definition of insanity and we can do it properly this time,” Lacson said on Twitter.

He was referring to a definition of insanity, usually attributed to renowned physicist Albert Einstein: “Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
Article continues after this advertisementAs of Tuesday, a total of 104 senatorial aspirants have filed their COCs, according to Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesman James Jimenez. The filing started last Thursday.

The campaign period for senators and party-list groups will run from Feb. 12 to May 11, 2019, and between March 30 to May 11 for members of the House of Representatives and regional, provincial, city, and municipal officials, the Comelec said. /cbb
