Commission on Elections (Comelec) Spokesperson James Jimenez has resigned as focal person of the Local Source Code Review Committee after a photo of an actress wearing a bikini was shown from his laptop in a Comelec event over the weekend.

Jimenez announced his resignation on Monday, after he admitted that the photo of an actress he did not name was accidentally shown at an event in Dela Salle University on Saturday.

He said the wallpaper was shown in the projector screen while the laptop operator was switching between tabs.

“This morning I have rendered my resignation as focal person of the local source code review committee,” he said in a press briefing.

Jimenez said he offered his resignation to claim responsibility over the incident.

“It is my fault. I was responsible for that particular event,” he said.

He clarified, however, that he remains as spokesperson of the Comelec. /je
