The San Juan City police arrested a Grade 10 student and another drug suspect during separate anti-drug operations on Thursday night.
San Juan City Police chief Senior Supt. Dindo Reyes identified the 14-year-old suspect only as alias “Bong” for being a minor.
The San Juan police station’s Drug Enforcement Unit arrested Bong after handing over P500 worth of suspected marijuana to a policeman acting as a buyer along North Domingo Street, Barangay Progreso at around 9:30 p.m.
The boy admitted that his marijuana supplier was based in Sta. Mesa, Manila. But police are still investigating if the boy supplied marijuana to his fellow students.
Another suspect, identified as Daniel Glorioso, 30, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in his neighborhood in Barangay West Crame at around 6 p.m.
Police said Glorioso was included in the drug watch list and had surrendered under “Oplan Tokhang.”
Seized from him were three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and buy-bust money.
The suspects were charged for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Glorioso was detained at the San Juan City Police detention cell while Bong was taken into custody by the Department of Social Welfare and Department. /jpv
