Chief of staff: Dong Mangudadatu to run for senator under PDP-Laban

Maguindanao 2nd District Rep. Zajid “Dong” Mangudadatu will run for senator in the 2019 midterm elections under the ruling party Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), his chief of staff confirmed Thursday.

“Yes tatakbo si Congressman Dong as senator,” Maiet Banquil, Mangudadatu’s chief of staff, told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview.

She added that Mangudadatu will file his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) next week.

After filing his COC, PDP-Laban president Senator Koko Pimentel said Mangudadatu was among the six other senatorial candidates of the ruling party for next year’s election.
