Embattled ACTS-OFW Rep. Aniceto “John” Bertiz III has been confined in a hospital since Tuesday due to chest pains.
House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez and COOP-NATCCO Rep. Anthony Bravo revealed in a press briefing on Wednesday.
“He’s still under observation,” Bravo said.
Suarez added that the issues he’s currently facing might have triggered the chest pains.
The two also said Bertiz previously had angioplasty.
His office confirmed that he was admitted to a hospital.
“He is undergoing series of tests,” Bertiz’s chief-of-staff, Jun Ahuilar, told INQUIRER.net.
Bertiz drew the ire of the public after he was seen flouting security protocols and confronting a security officer at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) on Saturday.

Last week, a video of him – telling agricultural and biosystems engineers during their induction that they won’t be getting their professional licenses if they don’t know Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go, who is being groomed to run as senator in next year’s elections – surfaced and went viral on social media.

While Bertiz apologized for the two incidents, he was also criticized for blaming his “monthly period” for his bad temper at the airport. /ee
